THINGS TO SEE AND DO IN YOUNGSVILLE
Exploring life in Youngsville is a good decision, and here are fun things to know:
*Youngsville Fall Festival - is held in September each year.
*Lake Donna Party - is an annual bash that has an ironic undercurrent. Today, there is no water. That's right - the party is held on a grassy lawn where Lake Donna once shimmered long ago. From the 1950’s to the 1960’s it was a recreational swimming area operated by Harry & Lucille Privette and was named after their daughter Donna – hence the name Lake "Donna".
During the summer local teens from all over flocked here to dance and party during the summer. But, alas, as all good things go when the Privettes sold the property the swimming pools were filled in and the building was converted to a dressmaking shop. But if you talk to anyone who was a teenager here during that time you can see the dreamy look in his or her eyes when they talk about Lake Donna memories.
